Our role
The most exciting time for a tech start-up is the first product launch - and we’ve got three launches
this quarter alone. Which is why we need you: a SaaS-specialist marketing manager looking for a
freelance role that offers the chance to actually deliver something impressive that could propel your
career forward, not just being a temporary stop-gap. And yes, there’s scope to make the role yours
permanently.
We’re an open-source AI research lab, and our research is about to get real. Our 30-strong team operate five subnets - distributed networks focusing on one aspect of machine learning - three of which are launching their first products. From data-scraping to protein-folding, chat inference to training the latest models, our mission is to build AI solutions that are transparent, accessible, and competitive with the best in the business.
You’ll be working with a very talented team of front and back-end engineers, machine learning PhDs, and delivery managers to create digital marketing campaigns worthy of their work. As the fourth member of our comms team, you will be a significant boost to their capacity. Our Head of Communications will help you to hit the ground running by providing key messages, brand guidelines,
and strategy. Our Art Director will visualise your conceptual campaigns. And our Community Manager will ensure that it’s hitting the right notes in our channels.
The main priority: to develop robust, rigorous marketing plans for each of our products, with evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure their impact, feedback to the team, and improve
accordingly.
Your experience
- 5+ years in the SaaS marketing department.
- Leading comprehensive market research initiatives to uncover customer needs, market trends, and competitor strategies
- Managing product-specific marketing campaigns, monitoring their success, and ensuring their fidelity to the overall brand.
- Launching products, developing campaigns for launches, and creating consistent marketing support to maintain interest post-launch.
- Adapting messaging priorities and communications concepts to different touchpoints.
- Establishing campaign and product-specific KPIs, and using them to fine-tune a campaign’s progress.
- Harnessing multi-modal tools, techniques, and processes to help promote products in interactive ways.
Your skills
- Conceptual: Comfortable creating new concepts from scratch, iterating them, and using them to develop consistent cross-channel communications.
- Flexible: Fluent in a range of marketing methodologies, including partnerships and affiliations, SEO, analytics, and social media marketing frameworks.
- Data-led: Confident with data visualisations, infographics, and statistics.
- Sales-focused: Capable of sharpening product features and assets into compelling campaigns that drive revenue.
- Methodical: Prefer using proven processes to design, monitor, adapt, and improve your marketing campaigns, and help others to use them too.
